Moram priznati da sam neopisivo sretan, zadovoljan i čak u neku ruku i ponosan što sam uspio na samom kraju ove 2019. godine po drugi puta pisati o legendarnom festivalu Woodstock, koji je ove godine odvalio svojih pola stoljeća od održavanja. U ta tri glazbena dana izdogađalo se brdo stvari. Ne radi se tu samo o miru, ljubavi i glazbi, tu se radi o doista širokom dijapazonu društvenih aspekata, normi i antinormi. No, sve to vi već dobro znate i upoznati ste sa svime. Ovaj puta suočavamo se s ovom apsolutno jedinstvenom i vjerojatno neponovljivom zbirkom tonskih zapisa smještenih na 38 CD diskova, koji će svakog onog tko imalo drži do ove naše tematike dovesti u onaj stadij kada vašim bićem jednostavno moraju proći trnci.

"V.A. - Woodstock - Back To The Garden - 50th Anniversary Archive" objavila je 2. kolovoza izdavačka kuća Rhino i svima nama kojima je stalo do ove priče zapravo je u potpunosti otvorila oči.

Ovo je doista raritetno, limitirano izdanje koje je, zapravo, i cjeloviti dokumentarni i povijesni dokument koji prati kronološki tijek događanja i nastupa svih učesnika ovog jedinstvenog glazbenog događaja. Tako na 38 CD diskova dobivamo 432 pjesme od kojih 267 nismo sve do sada imali prigode čuti. Pred nama je gotovo 20 glazbenih sati koje do sada nismo čuli. Ne znam hoće li mlađim generacijama biti jasno što smo mi to dobili jer pred nama se otvorio jedan apsolutno novi, sve do sada skriveni svijet glazbe koju volimo.

Dugo vremena bila su nam dostupna samo dva albuma, trostruki i dvostruki i bili smo sretni, bili smo ponosni što imamo dio onoga što volimo. Naravno, bilo nam je jasno da to nije sve što je snimljeno, ali bili smo zadovoljni. No, kako je vrijeme prolazilo, kako su se sve više i više otvarale razne, priče, studije, knjige i promišljanja vezana uz ovaj glazbeni događaj bilo je svima kristalno jasno da se tako nešto neće skoro ponoviti.

Tu se više nije radilo niti o glazbi, a na kraju krajeva niti o lovi, već se cijela priča postavlja na temelje "state of mind", koje je posjedovala cijela jedna genercija ili zapravo više njih.

U vrijeme održavanja Woodstocka imao sam punih devet godina i naravno, nisam znao što se zbiva niti događa, ali samo 4-5 godina kasnije, itekako sam upijao sve ono, što se moglo doznati i saznati vezano uz ovaj festival.

Tijekom godina brojna pitanja izlazila su svako malo na površinu, tipa: zašto netko tada nije nastupio na Woodstocku? Zašto primjerice na Woodstocku su bili Whovci a nisu bili Rollači? Gdje su bili Beatlesi? Gdje je bio Dylan? Ili primjerice: zašto nismo imali prigode čuti nastupe ili samo dio nastupa Wintera, Janis ,Blood, Sweat & Tears ? Puno je tu bilo raznih kalkulacija, nekih nevjerojatnih priča i događanja, ali sada je pred svima nama, jedan doista "novi Svijet" star i više od 50. godina.

U svom tekstu baš u ovoj rubrici na samu 50.godišnjicu Woodstocka napisao sam: "Naime, glazbeni magazin "Rolling Stone" 8. svibnja ove godine donosi vijest da se priprema još jedno izdanje od čak 38 CDa, da prosto ne vjerujete, zar ne?!"
I eto ga, upravo je www.Soundguardian.com ponovo PRVI, koji vam na ovim prostorima donosi priču, informaciju ili što već vezano uz ovo doista nevjerojatno glazbeno izdanje.

U ukupno 35 sati i 53 minute od kojih 19 sati i 50 minuta sve do sada nismo mogli čuti.A to za mene osobno predstavlja doista istinsko blago, nevjerojatni povijesni dokument kojeg vrijedi svako malo proučavati… zapravo slušati i svaki puta otkrivati ćete nešto novo, neke nove stvari, pred vama će se svako malo otvarati neka nova vrata, koja vode u prostoriju gdje još nikada niste bili. Poput malog djeteta oči će vam biti velike poput krumpira a vaše uši neće prestatjati upijati sve ono što se tada zbivalo na "stageu".

E tu dolazimo do onog dijela priče da li je to baš sve? Ne, naravno da nije …nedostaju dvije pjesme sa nastupa Jimija Hendrixa, koje kompnija Hendrix Experience LLC nije odobrila, njih je otpjevao gitarist Larry Lee i one su "Mastermind" i tzv. medley Gypsy Woman"/ "Aware of Love". Isto tako manjaka jedna i pol pjesma sa koncerta Sha Na Na, koji nisu snimljeni na kaseti a to su: "A Teenager In ove" i prvi dio "Little Darlin".

S druge pak strane drugi su pak mišljenja da se ovim izdanjem zapravo ubila životnost albuma, da je ta kronologija i revnost praćenja cijelog "stage" zbivanja umanjila dinamiku samih nastupa…osobno, ali samo osobno, želio bih još jednom naglasiti da sam doista neopisivo sretan i zadovoljan, što je u mojoj kolekciji tonskih zapisa pohranjen i ovaj meni neprocijenjivo važan i raritetan glazbeno-povijesni dokumet.

Nema nikakve sumnje da je moja genaracija šezdesetih bila jedna od posljednjih, koja je bila i imala mogućnost biti na samom izvoru konačnog formiranja kompletne svjetske rock i ine glazbene scene. Jedan sam od onih sretnika, koji se uspio upecati u ovaj predivni glazbeni svijet moderne glazbe 20.i 21. stoljeća i biti njen aktivan pratitelj sve evo do današnjih dana. Sa gotovo šezdeset godina za vratom, trezveno razmišljam i pitam se ima li tu uopće kraja, da znam…naravno, da nema! I sretan sam i pomalo tužan jer pitanje je što nosi budućnost.

Prije nešto više od mjesec dana ili ako baš želite 20. studenog 2019. ovo izdanje nominirano je za Grammy u dvije kategorije: "Best Historical Album" (Zax, Woolard, Kehew i inženjer masteringa Dave Schultz) i "Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package" (umjetnički direktor Masaki Koike). Obzirom na "težinu" i značaj ovog izdanja ali i na raskošnu opremu, koja je smještena u kutiju od šperploče s platnenim umetkom inspiriranim postavljanjem pozornice Woodstocka.

Na kraju nekako imam taj osjećaj zadovoljstva što sam uspio po mom skromnom sudu dostojno obilježiti tih 50 godina Woodstocka. Imam dojam da je "neka moja misija" vezana uz ovo područje završena, da sam ispunio ta neka svoja očekivanja i da sam nekako sada miran, jer je to iza mene. No, isto tako znam da pravi posao tek počinje jer treba ljudima omogućiti da čuju o čemu se tu radi i stoga u radijskim emisijama "Rock-Oko" i "Blues za vas" u bliskoj budućnosti slijedi promocija ovog izdanja i preslušavanje onih 19 sati i 50 minuta koje još niste imali prigode čuti. Veselim se upravo tim trenucima!

I napokon, zadnji dan u ovoj "staroj" 2019.godini u ovoj svojoj rubrici "Iz ∠ Slušatelja" zatvorio sam uz tekst, koji samo razmatra i daje neke informacije o po meni, jednom od najvažnijih glazbenih događaja uopće. I iskreno se nadam da mi bez obzira na sve… Bob Geldof ovu moju tvrdnju neće uzeti za zlo.
