Punk rock velikani i peterostruki dobitnici nagrade Grammy proslavili su 25. godišnjicu svog kultnog albuma Nimrod objavom slavljeničkog box seta.
Nimrod 25 uključuje originalni album, jedan disk prethodno neobjavljenih demo snimaka i live set iz Philadelphia's Electric Factory snimljen 14. studenog 1997., mjesec dana nakon izlaska albuma. Demo disk s 14 pjesama uključuje dvije neobjavljene pjesme Green Daya (“You Irritate Me” i “Tre Polka”) plus obradu klasične pjesme Elvisa Costella “Alison” (prethodno neobjavljena). Album Nimrod je do sada prodan u više od 3 milijuna primjeraka.
Obljetnička izdanja dolaze kao 3CD BOX i 5LP BOX, a posljednji je dostupan i u deluxe numeriranom box setu.
Nimrod je originalno objavljen 14.10.1997. Album koji se našao na prestižnoj ljestvici Billboard Top 10 LP servirao nam je hitove “Hitchin’ A Ride”, “Redundant”, “Nice Guys Finish Last” i “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”, a spomenuta prkosna balada postala je soundtrack za važne životne trenutke, ostvarila nakladu od preko 5 milijuna prodanih primjeraka samo u USD te se našla čak i u kultnoj seriji Seinfeld.
Osnovan 1986. u Berkeleyju, Green Day jedan je od najprodavanijih bendova svih vremena, s više od 75 milijuna prodanih ploča diljem svijeta i 10 milijardi kumulativnih audio/vizualnih streamova. Članovi Kuće slavnih rock and rolla zvjezdani status stekli su albumom Dookie 1994. Ovaj klasik, koji je prodan u više od 10 milijuna primjeraka i dostigao je dijamantni status, zaslužan je za popularizaciju i oživljavanje mainstream interesa za punk rock ’90-ih.
